 The Disney Pixar movie "Wall-E",even thou is a cartoon movie, it made my realize a lot of things. This movie is about a robot name Wall-E. He was a trash compactor. He was the only thing left a live on Earth.The people felt the earth because it was all cover in garbage due decades of mass consumerism. Now the people were living in a enormous ship called "Axiom". Due to the new way of life the humans are living, they all became obese.They were always sitting in a chair that moves on his own, they were always eating and eating, they never got out of their chair by themselves because there were robots that lift them if necessarily. The robots were the ones that did every thing. The humans were always interacting with technology that they even socialize with others. Wall -E was the one that made the humans realize that their "new way of living" wasn't a good one. because of Wall-E the humans decided to change, a go back to Earth, their real home. This movie not only entertain us but also made as realize about our society issues such as, obese, contamination, the impact of technology, environment, and consumerism.
When this movie came to theater in 2008, I didn't saw it because I taught it was a kids movie even thou a heard a lot of good comments about it. After two years I saw the movie on television. I was amazed. This movie was incredible it made me see the damage we are making to our planet and to ourselves. People of all ages can watch this movie. For me it was perfect to do a movie about this society issues in cartoons because, it helps the kids( who are the next generation) to see the importance of eating healthy, the importance of protecting our environment from contamination among others things. I definitely going to show this movie to my students when I become a teacher and to my kids when I become a mother. I encourage you to see the movie if you haven't.
Walt Disney is one of the biggest company in the world. It is know as a world of fantasy and innocence for kids and families.. Its movies are fascinating and are known all over the world.Disney seems prefect. Now the question come, it's really perfect?
After watching the documentary "Mickey Mouse Monopoly" my first taught was "Wow, why I didn't saw the movies with that perspective?.This documentary shifts in many ways my view of Disney. It opened my eyes to see the messages behind the movies. For example in the movie Beauty and the beast we can see violence and yelling towards the woman. In the Little Mermaid the way Ariel give up her voice so she could be with the man is likes, this shows that the outside beauty is more important that anything else to catch the attention of a man. In all of the movies women are portrait as seductive with a skinny body figure to attract men. In other hand men are presented as the strongest, with big muscle and always defending and saving the women, as if women has to always depend on men.
One of the first things you can notice is that in there are movies that black people doesn't appear at all, and in the movies that they do appear they are the bad ones of the movie. This is an aspect of racism black are portrait as inferior or as the malicious ones. What about advertisement? The movies itself encourage you to bye stuff about the movies. In the movie Hercules we can see advertisement within the movie. We can see how Hercules is promoted in order to be famous and sales souvenirs about him.
Over all, Disney movies always transmit a message to its audience some good and others not so good. This documentary encourage me to see movies more than for pleasure and to see the message behind them.
In this cartoon we can see a boy with his mother walking through the mall. The boy points out to a fat man think he is Santa Claus, but her mother told him "No, honey, they're not santas....they're Americans". The cartoon represents the Americans as obese due to the bad eating habits.
 - Here are some editorials that I found interesting: All of these editorials are based on the writers opinion. The one that I like the most is "A Young Man Withe Down Syndrome, a Fatal Encounter and a Cry For Understanding" because, talks about a young man with Down Syndrome ( a genetic condition that causes learning difficulties) and as a teacher I could have students with that same syndrome.
This editorial is about a 26 year young man called Ethan Saylor with Down Syndrome, who one day died in the local mall when he was at the theater. All started when Ethan went to the mall to see a movie, after the movie his caregiver went to get the car. Meanwhile Ethan went back to the theater and sat down for the next showing. The employees told him to buy another ticket or leave, but he refused to leave, so the employees called the mall security. The security mall tried to drag him out of the theater but Ethan still refused to leave. The mall security din't have any choose but to handcuffed him and put him on the floor. All of the sudden he died. The medical examiner said it was an homicide by asphyxiation. This situation promoted a movement to raise people awareness and understanding of Down Syndrome.

| The things I place in the "personal" category, are things that only affects me, without affecting the society. I place all of the things a mention above in the "social" category because those things are occurring right now and are affecting our society. There are some things in the social category that are the closet for me. This are: the animal abuse, aggressive people and violence. Since a have a puppy, I am absolutely against animal abuse. I don't understand why people hurt animals. I can relate in some way with the aggressive people and the violence, because I was a victim of violence and aggressiveness. It was hard for me to walk away from that situation because, it involved the person a used to love (ex-boyfriend).
 When I hear the word "Violence", I think of yelling, screaming, physical and mental (emotional) abuse, obsession etc. Violence is something that we can see and heard about it everyday. We can be part of it without even noticing. Violence is defined by the World Health Organization as the intentional use of physical force or power, threatened or actual, against a person, or against a group or community, that either results in or has a high likelihood of resulting in injury, death, psychological harm, or deprivation. On of the things that concerns me is the violence in a relationship. Why? Because I was in a dysfunctional relationship where the guy who I was with wanted to control everything. He always wanted to know what I was doing, he was constantly calling me and he was very possessive. I never thought I will pass through that situation.It seems that violence in a relationship is becoming very common now days. Searching about violence in a relationship I found out some interesting information. Every day we can see in the news about women been mistreated and even kill by their husband or their partner. In a study made in 2008 showed that relationship violence is prevalent on college.
We live in a time where all we can thin is about the future and we forget about the things happening right now in the present. Part of our society are stuck i the past thinking that men are the ones who always has to be in charge of the family and the economics aspects, to maintain the leader and provider of the family. This concerns me a lot, we are now in the 21 century. Both men and women have equal duties when it comes to the family among other things. Now days the violence in a relationship is happening not only with couples that are married but also in the relationship of teenagers. Is sad to see how violence in a relationship is becoming more common in our society and how is affecting more young people every day.
I love Valentine's Day. Valentine's Day is the time when people express their feelings and affections to their crush, boyfriend or girlfriend, friends and family by exchanging gifts and candies. This day is celebrated every year on February 14. Even thou I love valentine's day that doesn't mean that haven't had a bad Valentine's Day.
My worst Valentines's Day was in 2011. I didn't have a boyfriend nor a crush. I was forever alone. The day started as usual during the morning I went to the university and took my classes. During the after noon and the night I was stuck at my house with no place to go. I didn't receive any type of gift or candy from my friends and my parents like in other years. I didn't do anything different, everything was the same. In other words I was stuck in my house in Valentine's Day. I was forever alone. All thou I had a bad Valentine's Day, I have a pretty good one too.
My best Valentine's Day was the one that just pass. I couldn't ask for more. I was with my boyfriend all the long, he even went with me to the university and meet all my friends. We went to dinner, to eat ice-cream and to the movies. Later that night we went for a walk to the beach. This day was simple but perfect for me.

- Should literature from other cultures be translated and taught in schools?
Yes, I think literature from other cultures should be translated and taught in schools. Teaching students literature from other cultures can be fun and rewarding. It can engaged students into learning new things outside their own culture and more important they can expand their knowledge.
- How important is technology in education?
Incorporating technology in education is very important. Now days everything is about technology and as teachers we want to keep up with the "new" to keep our students interesting in school. Technology is a big help to the teacher because, it facilitates the learning in the classroom, it makes the students more attentive to the class and it can expand the learning beyond the classroom. With technology the teacher can prepare visual, use videos and other resources for the students to learn and even prepare activities where the students have to use technology as well.
- Is the freedom of expression is confined to speaking?
No, freedom of expression is not confined to speaking because their are different ways people can express themselves without necessarily speaking. People can express themselves by making posters, drawings, doing dramatizations, among others. So there you have it, freedom of expression is not confined to speaking.
 What is a research??
- Research is an investigation of a particular topic using a variety of resources.
Many of you can find researching boring and complicated and that is a normal reaction, specially when you are researching about things you do not like at all. When I research about topics and things I like and have an interest on, researching change from boring and complicated to fun and easier. What I like about research, is that I can find a lot of new things about a certain topic or thing that I already know and even new things I would never guess it existed. You can research about anything, from simple to more complext things.
